The Senior Accounts Clerk (Manual Reconciler) reports to the Team Leader, Corporate, within the Debtors Department. The primary objective of this role is to assist the Team Leader in the collection of debts and the meticulous reconciliation of corporate accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile corporate client accounts on a monthly basis, focusing particularly on two major accounts every month.
- Collect, verify, and sort National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) claims daily, ensuring adherence to NHIF requirements.
- Process journal vouchers necessary for correcting claims posted to the wrong account, resolving deposits that do not net off, and handling collection errors.
- Process all pending claims/returns for the week every Monday, and specifically for the previous month on the 3rd of every month.
- Generate reports following daily NHIF claim/invoice dispatch and forward downloads for the main account to Team Leaders daily.
- Liaise closely with the Dispatch team and Team Leaders to ensure that all invoices have been accurately dispatched and received by corporate clients on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that all NHIF claims are accurate, complete, and dispatched with accompanying attachments in a timely manner.
- Organize and hold meetings with the Dispatch team to discuss the invoice status of respective corporate accounts as detailed in the dispatch reports.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safe custody of both internal and external clients’ documents.
- Participate actively in the preparation of service audits to help the department achieve its quality objectives.
- Maintain all necessary records and correspondence related to NHIF claim attachments and corporate reconciliation efforts.
- Perform any other duties as may be requested by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Education: Bachelor of Commerce/ CPA II or equivalent; KCSE Mean Grade C minimum or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a busy accounting or credit management department.
