We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Nairobi. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial integrity of the company through rigorous reporting, compliance management, and strategic financial planning. This role serves as a strategic business partner, providing insights to management and leading the finance department's operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage tax filings, statutory returns, and audit requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.
Implement and maintain internal control frameworks suitable for distribution operations.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
Coordinate the annual budgeting process across various departments.
Monitor budget performance and conduct detailed variance analysis.
Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure adequate liquidity for the organization.
Financial Analysis & Business Partnership
Provide actionable financial insights to the General Manager (GM) and department heads.
Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and escalate credit risk in partnership with the Commercial Manager.
Proactively identify and flag inventory write-off risks.
Team Leadership
Supervise the Accountant and Accounts Assistant.
Coach, develop, and build capability within the finance team.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance or auditing.
Professional qualification: CPA(K) plus one additional certification (e.g., Diploma in Management or IT).
ICPAK membership in good standing and adherence to ICPAK training requirements.
