The role of the Seed Processing Technician (two positions available) at Bayer East Africa is essential for ensuring the safe, optimal, and reliable operation and maintenance of seed processing equipment. The technician is responsible for adhering strictly to statutory and domestic regulations, performing necessary maintenance and repairs, managing production orders using systems like SAP or Maestro, and actively leading Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) efforts at the site.
Key Tasks
- Responsible for operating the equipment safely and optimally in the shift.
- Ensure strict adherence to statutory and domestic regulations, particularly those relating to safe working practices, to avoid injury to personnel and damage to company property.
- In liaison with the Maintenance Supervisor, perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to ensure equipment is available, reliable, and safe to operate.
- Lead ESH efforts, provide assistance, and arrange for resources to promote safety at sites.
- Maintain operational records as required by management systems.
- In liaison with the production coordinator, Process Production orders in SAP or Maestro and stage the production process accordingly.
- Active participation and compliance with all ESH policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Production Management, Electrical Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, or Mechanical engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on plant operations experience.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
- Excellent Numeracy and analytical skills.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of SAP.
