The Security Manager role involves the effective management of all aspects of physical security for the premises and the protection of company assets against loss or damage. The incumbent will direct and coordinate the overall activities of the security department to ensure the safety of all employees, the employer, and visitors.
Main Responsibilities
- Define the company’s overall security policy, develop and promulgate companywide security standards and practices.
- Carry out a regular comprehensive survey of company facilities, equipment, and activities, in order to determine security needs and assess likely threats.
- Develop or modify the Company’s security program to correct deficiencies as necessary, and to comply with national laws and regulations in which the company operates.
- Ensure the continuing effectiveness of the Company security program through regular evaluations and inspections, and by encouraging internal security audit processes, that is, the implementation of quality control functions.
- Advise on and manage all security systems in use by the Company and ensure maintenance of up-to-date records.
- Promote security awareness and vigilance.
- Ensure an effective response by the Company to any threat or security incident.
- Initiate special security measures during periods of increased risk/threats.
- Report all actual or suspected acts of unlawful interference with operations to appropriate authority.
- Maintain a company log of all incidents. Investigate cases and prepare a report for management.
Qualifications & Experience

- Excellent knowledge of aviation and airport security operations.
- Expertise in risk assessment, threat analysis, and incident management.
- Proficiency in crisis management and emergency response planning.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with airport authorities, airlines, and law enforcement agencies.
- Experience in compliance and audit management.
- Proven ability for decision-making under pressure.
- Skills in training, mentoring, and performance management of security teams.
Key Competencies
- Valid KAA (Kenya Airports Authority) security pass – mandatory.
- Proven airport security experience (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
- Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial security role.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations and procedures.
- Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field (BA/BSc/HND qualification required).
- Certification in aviation security or risk management is an added advantage.
- Clean background and vetting clearance.
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office, reporting systems).
