Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) is seeking a Scholarship Coordinator to manage and support their educational scholarship programs. The role involves building strong relationships with school leadership, families, and community committees to ensure efficient onboarding and continuous support for scholarship recipients. The coordinator will be responsible for case management, scholar welfare, and maintaining accurate data to monitor program impact and efficiency.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Liaise with SUN Committees and public school leadership (principals and Bursars) to support onboarding and continuous scholarship recipient support.
- Work with the SUN and Gender departments to identify eligible students.
- Collaborate with the Scholarship Officer and SUN facilitators to deliver mentorship and school holiday programming.
- Build the capacity of families to support scholars' learning and well-being.
- Develop partnerships with local organizations and government institutions supporting vulnerable girls and teen moms.
Case Management and Scholar Welfare
- Implement scholar welfare initiatives and provide mentorship to recipients.
- Engage parents and guardians to ensure students remain enrolled and informed.
- Identify and flag students at risk of dropping out or in need of psychosocial support.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new scholarship students and their families.
- Escalate critical cases to the Gender department when necessary.
Data Management and Monitoring
- Manage the recruitment pipeline and collect streamlined data.
- Conduct data audits and maintain an up-to-date scholar database.
- Ensure timely submission of necessary documents by scholars.
- Plan and conduct home and school visits for data collection.
Innovation
- Contribute to the department's process evaluations to improve intervention delivery.
- Provide insights to enhance programmatic impact and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in educational programs or community-based organizations supporting youth.
- Minimum Diploma-level education; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional certification in counseling.
- Expertise in psycho-social counseling and data manipulation/management.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
