This role is for a Sales Officer specializing in Microfinance. The core function involves aggressive customer mobilization, promoting and cross-selling financial products, and rigorously appraising and processing loan applications in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Mobilization & Sales: Undertake aggressive marketing and outreach activities, and be responsible for cross-selling various financial products offered by the company.
- Customer Education: Acquaint customers with products, approval policies, and all terms and conditions related to accessing loans from the company.
- Loan Application Processing: Assist clients in completing loan applications, preparing detailed loan analyses, formulating recommendations, presenting these recommendations to the Branch Credit Committee, and ensuring all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled.
- Loan Appraisal and Due Diligence: Appraise diligently and thoroughly all loan applications received from individuals or companies. This includes investigating and assessing the applicant's background, specifically their character, creditworthiness, and credit history, as per records held by credit reference bureaus.
- Verification: Verify all particulars contained in the application form and check/evaluate the particulars and financial projections of the repayment source.
- Compliance and Timeliness: Ensure that all applications are evaluated and submitted to the Credit Committee promptly, not later than two days from the date of application.
- Security Documentation: Ensure that security documentation is complete and duly perfected, properly executed, and realizable as guided by the company credit policy.
- General Duties: Carry out any other duties and assignments as may be directed by the supervisor from time to time.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced diploma or degree qualification.
- At least three years of experience in sales working specifically with a financial institution.
