Our client in the FMCG sector is seeking a highly driven and experienced Sales Executive (Wholesale Cereals) with strong hands-on field sales experience within Kenya’s food and cereals distribution market. This is a performance-based role requiring strong territory management, distributor relationship building, data-driven tracking, and consistent achievement of aggressive monthly sales targets.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate proven success selling directly to food distributors, supermarket chains, and HoReCa accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance: Drive wholesale cereals sales within assigned Nairobi and surrounding territories to achieve and exceed a minimum monthly sales target of Ksh. 1,000,000.
Account Management: Identify, onboard, and grow new wholesale accounts and distribution partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with food distributors, supermarket procurement teams, and Hotel, Restaurant & Catering (HoReCa) buyers.
Market Expansion: Expand product visibility and market penetration while monitoring competitor activities, pricing trends, and market dynamics.
Territory Management: Manage and grow assigned territory independently.
Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records and mobile sales reporting. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly performance reports.
Coordination: Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure timely order fulfillment. Track pipeline performance and implement corrective strategies where necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales & Distribution, Agribusiness, or Food Science. Professional certifications in Sales or Supply Chain Management are acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ hands-on field sales experience in FMCG / Food Products (Mandatory). Experience managing wholesale cereals accounts is highly preferred.
Sales Background: Direct selling experience to food distributors, supermarket chains, and HoReCa accounts.
Track Record: Demonstrated experience in growing territory sales, independently managing sales pipelines, and consistently meeting or exceeding monthly targets.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Kenya’s cereals and wholesale food distribution network.
Technical Skills: Computer literacy and CRM system usage is mandatory.
Mobility: Valid driving license or reliable mobility is an added advantage.
