M-KOPA's mission is to make high quality energy affordable to everyone. This is a player-coach position with two equally weighted mandates: driving personal sales and leading a field-based sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Sales: Build a strong local network across the area, identify growth opportunities, and consistently meet and exceed individual sales targets—with every customer interaction reflecting the trust M-KOPA has earned as a brand.
Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, train, and develop a field team of Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs), monitor their performance, and build their capability to exceed targets over time. The team's results are a direct measure of the quality of leadership they receive.
Operations & Strategy: Monitor local marketing campaigns, manage DSR inventory, ensure audit compliance, and provide the reporting that shapes how M-KOPA's sales strategy develops in the market.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: BA/BSc/HND degree.
Experience: Proven track record in field sales, with demonstrable experience in FinTech, Microfinance, Telecommunications, FMCG, or a related sector and a clear record of exceeding individual targets.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a field-based sales team, with the ability to recruit well, develop capability, and drive accountability.
Local Network: Strong knowledge of or networks within the local areas.
