The Relationship Officer, Retail Banking is responsible for growing the branch business in terms of the loan book, liabilities, customer base, and income within the bank’s target markets. The role involves providing effective account relationship management to optimize customer satisfaction, retention, and wallet share by selling multiple solutions from the entire bank’s product range.
Duties and Responsibilities
Relationship Management: Manage and grow branch customer relationships and account portfolios, focusing on retention, business growth, and overall performance.
Sales & Acquisition: Achieve banking targets for new customer acquisition, customer relationship growth, and market share.
Prospecting: Develop a customer database for prospective customers and identify selling opportunities in the marketplace.
Portfolio Distribution: Work with the branch network to ensure distribution of the Bank's asset and liability base by product.
Financial Optimization: Actively manage expensive deposits and control costs associated with sales strategies and relationship growth.
Strategic Execution: Execute business plans and strategies for the Business Development Department.
Service Integration: Collaborate with external service providers to ensure customers receive a convenient, efficient, and reliable total banking service.
Credit Analysis: Work with the Credit Department for timely approvals and processing. Conduct initial credit analysis, loan appraisal, monitoring, and follow-up on delinquent accounts.
Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and KYC requirements.
Team Development: Participate in cross-training and interact with other business segments to enhance team development.
Continuous Improvement: Recommend changes to meet customer expectations while remaining compliant with Bank policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in Banking operations with a demonstrated interest in relationship management or business development.
Personal Attributes: Must be self-driven with strong interpersonal skills.
Performance: Must be results-oriented and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Skills: Must be innovative and possess strong marketing skills.
