The Relationship Officer – Consumer Business is responsible for growing the consumer loan and liability book. This is achieved through retail customers, corporate schemes/partners, Government institutions, Developers, and other relevant partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance: Drive sales budgets and targets through the branch sales team to ensure objectives are met.
Relationship Management: Establish and maintain a strong customer focus for both internal and external clients. Develop sound relationships with Employers, Government institutions, Insurance companies, and other strategic partners.
Strategic Partnerships: Enter and manage key partnerships within the consumer lending segment and participate in relevant forums with partners and customers.
Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with internal channels including the branch network, Marketing units, and other Head Office departments.
Customer Service: Proactively engage customers to establish service levels, provide honest feedback, and maintain professional rapport. Keep customers informed on the progress of their applications.
Compliance and Risk: Adhere to consumer lending product profiles, Credit Policies, and legislation including KYC and AML. Identify and mitigate fraud-related activities and risk exposure.
Needs Analysis: Conduct effective needs analysis for new accounts or product advice, ensuring full disclosure regarding accreditation, repayments, service fees, and commissions.
Market Research: Research industries of existing and potential clients to understand contextual threats.
Portfolio Management: Maintain a high-quality lending book through prudent management and timely evaluation of all existing facilities.
Operational Efficiency: Ensure work is processed within set Turnaround Times (TAT) and provide regular management information reports.
General: Perform any other duty as assigned in line with the Organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
Minimum 3 years’ working experience in a similar position.
3 years’ experience in banking, with at least 2 years specifically in Business Development (Personal Banking/Consumer lending) and customer relationship management.
Thorough knowledge of MSME banking products, policies, lending products, and prudential guidelines.
AKIB banking certificates will be an added advantage.
Proven ability to lead teams and deliver business results.
Must be self-driven and possess excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, organization, and negotiation skills.
