Role Overview

Founded in 2012, Inkomoko has provided business advisory and access to finance for thousands of entrepreneurs. We are looking for a Regional Legal Support Manager to serve as the primary coordination point between country teams, external legal advisors, and the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Coordination and Country Support
- Serve as the primary coordination point between country teams, external legal advisors, and the General Counsel.
- Support country offices on routine legal, regulatory, labor, compliance, and operational matters.
- Track legal issues, deadlines, filings, and ongoing legal actions across all countries.
- Coordinate legal documentation and ensure timely follow-up on country legal requirements.
- Support onboarding of new country operations, registrations, licenses, and renewals.
External Legal Counsel Management
- Coordinate engagement with in-country legal advisors and law firms.
- Support the review, tracking, and administration of external legal counsel deliverables and invoices.
- Ensure timely escalation of legal risks and complex matters to the General Counsel.
- Maintain updated contact databases and engagement records for legal partners across countries.
Contract and Documentation Management
- Support drafting, review, formatting, and administration of contracts, agreements, MOUs, and legal correspondence.
- Maintain centralized legal filing and contract management systems.
- Ensure executed contracts and legal documents are properly archived and accessible.
- Track contract renewals, expirations, and key legal obligations.
Compliance and Governance Support
- Support organizational compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate periodic legal compliance reviews and document collection from country teams.
- Support filing of corporate documents, board resolutions, registrations, and statutory submissions.
- Monitor and organize updates on legal and regulatory developments affecting operations.
Legal Operations and Training
- Develop and improve legal tracking systems, templates, and workflows.
- Support legal awareness sessions and training for staff on key legal and compliance topics.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and dashboards on legal matters and trends for leadership review.
- Support implementation of legal policies, procedures, and operational guidance.
Dispute and Investigation Support
- Coordinate documentation and case management related to disputes, investigations, labor matters, and claims.
- Support evidence collection, document organization, and communication with external counsel.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive legal information.

Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or related legal qualification required.
- Admission to practice law in at least one African jurisdiction is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant legal, compliance, or legal operations experience.
- Experience working across multiple African jurisdictions is preferred.
- Experience supporting external legal counsel and cross-functional teams.
- Strong drafting, documentation, and legal coordination skills.
- Experience in NGO, financial services, social enterprise, or development sectors is an advantage.
- Fluency in English & French required.
