This role involves overseeing the regional finance function for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The Regional Finance Manager is instrumental in maintaining financial integrity, optimizing processes, and providing strategic financial guidance to management within a dynamic, global-matrix environment.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting, including accounting policy implementations, SOX compliance, distributed controllership, and process simplification.
- Managing internal controls specifically related to IPP (Internal Policies and Procedures) monitoring and risk.
- Advising management within the function and/or in the broader business, playing a supportive role in key decision-making processes.
- Presenting functional discipline and business solutions to leaders in the business and functional areas. This role requires working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Holding major influence on a small business unit or family within a Function or P&L.
- Leading the design and implementation of strategic long-term and short-term projects.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree (BA/BSc/HND equivalent) in a related Business, Finance, or Accounting focus.
- At least 10+ years of relevant business experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in Operational Finance.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional teams within a global-matrix environment.
- Great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with teams and customers.
- Proven experience leading or working with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives.
- The ability to multi-task effectively and balance priorities in an ever changing, fast-moving, time-sensitive environment.
- A collaborative spirit, enjoying teamwork and problem-solving with others.
