About the Role
CDL Human Resource is seeking a QuickBooks Online / R365 Accounting Lead, referred to as a 'Pack Leader.' This is a senior-level accounting role focused on managing full-cycle accounting for restaurant and franchise clients. The Accounting Lead independently handles financial records across QuickBooks Online and Restaurant365 (R365), ensuring audit-ready books and providing high-level financial insights to support business scalability. The role is tech-forward, requiring a professional who can work independently and provide strategic recommendations above routine bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership Across QBO and R365
- Independently manage full-cycle accounting across QuickBooks Online and, over time, Restaurant365.
- Maintain clean, accurate, audit-ready financial records.
- Oversee accruals, sales tax filings, and tip accounting.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues, cleaning up and restructuring books where necessary.
- Ensure financial reporting supports scalability and operational insight.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of the balance sheet and confidence in explaining accounting treatment and recommendations.
Senior-Level Judgment and Independent Execution
- Go beyond task completion by bringing insight, judgment, and problem-solving ability to the role.
- Work with limited supervision and make sound accounting decisions independently.
- Flag risks, inconsistencies, and process gaps before they become larger issues.
- Provide thoughtful recommendations on accounting workflow improvements and reporting accuracy.
- Serve as an experienced accounting partner contributing at a level above routine bookkeeping support.
Restaurant & Multi-Unit Accounting Support
- Support multi-location restaurant and franchise clients.
- Manage restaurant-specific accounting complexities, including tip allocation, sales tax tracking, and multi-unit reporting structures.
- Track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and food & beverage expenses.
- Understand restaurant workflows, POS systems, and operational terminology.
Systems Development and Technology Enablement
- Support the transition between QuickBooks Online and Restaurant365 (training provided).
- Assist in data cleanup, system configuration, and reporting optimization.
- Develop and document accounting workflows and SOPs.
- Evaluate automation tools and integrations within the accounting tech stack, contributing to AI-enabled accounting workflows.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work directly with U.S.-based leadership and accounting team members.
- Provide proactive updates and communicate financial issues clearly and confidently.
- Operate effectively within U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience: Minimum 5 to 6+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with clear evidence of increasing responsibility.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English with a clear, neutral-sounding accent for communicating with U.S.-based teams.
- Accounting Fundamentals: Demonstrated strength in accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet management.
- Industry Knowledge: Restaurant industry exposure is highly valued.
