Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a leading multimodal logistics operator and part of the MSC family, is seeking a QHSE Controller for its KBL Warehouse Management operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment across site operations, ensuring compliance with both group regulations and local legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular audits to minimize nonconforming activities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Auditing and Compliance:
Environmental Monitoring: Monitor site activities to prevent and avoid environmental pollution.
Workplace Safety: Ensure a secure, safe, and healthy working environment throughout the site for all personnel.
Training and Development: Identify QHSE training needs, facilitate delivery, and conduct periodic toolbox meetings on safety matters.
Incident Management: Report all incidents and accidents occurring within the sites, ensuring all statutory reporting requirements are met.
Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic reports to the QHSE Manager-Supply Chain to support strategic decision-making.
Emergency Preparedness: Establish emergency response procedures and evaluation plans; ensure all personnel are well-versed in procedures and assembly points.
Committee Management: Constitute and manage an active Health, Safety, and Environment Committee that adheres to AGL Group and local regulations.
Resource Management: Manage the availability and condition of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all employees and raise requisitions for departmental supplies.
Contract Review: Review service provider contracts to ensure all health, safety, and environmental considerations are adequately addressed.
Inductions: Conduct HSE inductions for all new employees and contractors to ensure site-wide safety awareness.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field.
Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
Experience in conducting safety audits and managing incident reports.
Ability to lead safety committees and conduct training sessions.
