Kempinski Hotels S.A., Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, is seeking a Purchasing Trainee to join their team in Nairobi. Under the supervision of the Departmental Trainer and Training Manager, the intern will undergo a comprehensive learning program within the procurement department.
Key Responsibilities
Learn to manage department contracts and purchasing requests.
Establish, update, and maintain departmental files and records.
Create databases, perform data entry, and participate in purchasing projects through research and information provision.
Prepare accurate reports within the stipulated time frames.
Authorize payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
Liaise with the accounting department to reconcile invoices and purchase orders.
Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Understand and strictly adhere to the Hotel’s Employee rules and regulations.
Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Procurement from a recognized learning institution.
No prior work experience is required.
Candidates must have completed their studies less than one year ago (Class of 2025/2026).
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Completed coursework is required, even if the formal graduation ceremony has not yet taken place.
Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multinational environment.
Excellent grooming skills and proficiency in professional and personal etiquette.
Good communication skills.
Outgoing personality with a positive learning attitude.
