Syokimau ICD (SICD) provides Container Freight Station (CFS) solutions and works with a large network of partners including Clearing Agents, importers, and manufacturers to develop efficient logistics systems in partnership with its sister companies to guarantee the full control of the supply chain. The purpose of this role is to perform professional accounting work including preparing budgets, year-end financial reports and schedules, controlling expenditure, and the design and implementation of internal control structures and Information Systems Audits to drive business growth and profitability.\n\n### Responsibilities and Duties\n- Provide accurate and timely financial services, including setting and monitoring budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, and management and financial accounts to inform decision-making.\n- Appraise Directors of key financial issues to enable a full understanding of the company's financial position.\n- Ensure that all salaries, advances, and other staff payments are made on time.\n- Ensure that all payments for utilities, licenses, and statutory obligations are made on time.\n- Oversee all statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts, and VAT submissions.\n- Develop finance policies and procedures and ensure they are consistently followed, including customer and supplier contracts, purchase orders, and credit control.\n- Generate monthly management accounts highlighting performance versus budget, explaining variances, and implementing control measures.\n- Ensure bank reconciliations are completed and any variances resolved.\n- Manage the annual and internal audit process to ensure statutory accounts are produced within required timelines and audit recommendations are implemented within 30 days.\n- Manage debt collection effectively.\n- Assess and report on overall business risk and maintain a business risk register with appropriate controls.\n- Manage the finance department and drive performance through coaching and mentoring.\n- Ensure transactional completeness and accuracy on the ERP system on a daily basis.\n- Ensure the production ERP is capturing correct pricing and cost movements.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Business Administration.\n- Qualified accountant certification (CPA (K), ACCA, or ACMA).\n- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior accounting position within a commercial organization.\n- Proven experience in preparing financial reports for management.\n- Experience providing statistical/financial information to heads of departments to support decision-making.\n- Experience working with external auditors.\n- Experience in budget preparations and reporting on variances.\n- Experience in maintaining books using ERP systems.\n- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate business alternatives.\n- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n- The candidate should be aged between 35 – 40 years.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should forward their CV to: using the position title as the subject of the email.
