The PR Intern will support the Corporate Communications team in executing media relations, public relations, digital content, and internal communication initiatives. This role offers hands-on exposure to corporate reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and brand communication in a structured professional environment.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n\n#### Corporate Communications Support\n- Assist in drafting press releases, newsletters, speeches, and corporate statements.\n- Edit and proofread communication materials to ensure clarity and consistency.\n- Support alignment of messaging across digital, internal, and external platforms.\n- Maintain organized communication templates and brand guideline documents.\n\n#### Media Relations Support\n- Maintain and update media contact databases.\n- Assist in distributing press releases and media invitations.\n- Monitor daily media coverage and compile brand mention reports.\n- Support preparation of media kits and briefing documents.\n\n#### Public Relations & Reputation Support\n- Monitor online mentions and escalate potential reputational concerns.\n- Assist in drafting responses to general inquiries under supervision.\n- Support execution of PR initiatives that enhance brand credibility.\n\n#### Digital & Content Support\n- Assist in developing content for blogs, website updates, and social platforms.\n- Support coordination of social media messaging aligned with PR objectives.\n- Track and report engagement metrics for PR-related digital content.\n\n#### Internal Communications Support\n- Assist in drafting internal memos and staff newsletters.\n- Support HR communication for employee engagement initiatives.\n- Help coordinate logistics for internal events and corporate activities.\n\n#### Stakeholder Engagement Support\n- Assist in preparing communication materials for CSR activities and stakeholder forums.\n- Support documentation and reporting for sponsorships and partnerships.\n\n#### Monitoring & Reporting\n- Compile weekly and monthly media monitoring reports.\n- Track basic PR metrics such as media mentions and estimated reach.\n- Conduct competitor and industry communication research.\n\n#### Crisis & Issues Support\n- Assist in maintaining updated crisis communication documents.\n- Support documentation during reputation-related incidents.\n- Participate in media and communication training sessions.\n\n#### Event Management Support\n- Assist in planning and logistics for press conferences, launches, and CSR events.\n- Support guest coordination and media follow-ups.\n- Prepare post-event coverage reports and documentation.\n\n### Minimum Requirements\n- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (ongoing or completed) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.\n- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.\n- Basic understanding of media operations and corporate communication principles.\n- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\n- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication tools.\n- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.\n\n### How to Apply\nSubmit your updated CV and cover letter to careers@mwananchicredit.com.
