Job Description
Oasis Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team in Busia. The primary purpose of this role is to provide professional psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for patients experiencing mental, emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. You will support mental wellness, functional recovery, and overall quality of life while contributing to a holistic, patient-centered care model within the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assessments: Conduct thorough psychological assessments using standardized tools, interviews, and clinical observations to evaluate mental health conditions.
Treatment Planning: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
Therapy: Provide evidence-based psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic modalities to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
Crisis Intervention: Assess and intervene during mental health crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
Group Therapy: Facilitate group therapy sessions to address specific mental health issues and promote peer support and skill-building.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in clinical psychology and contribute to the hospital's knowledge base through research and publication. Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Ethics: Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in all clinical activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Higher degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, or a related field.
Must be registered by KCPA/KPA (Kenya Counselling and Psychologists Association/Kenya Psychologists Association).
Experience in providing clinical services in a mental health setting.
Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of ethical guidelines and compliance with confidentiality regulations.
