World Vision is seeking a Projects Coordinator for the Tuimarishe Lishe Bora Shuleni program. This role involves coordinating and providing technical support for the successful planning and implementation of school meals and advocacy initiatives in line with World Vision Kenya's programming. The objective is to ensure improved wellbeing outcomes of children in Kenya as guided by the FY2026-2030 Strategy and the global ENOUGH Campaign (2024–2028).
Key Responsibilities
Programmatic and Technical Support
- Provide technical support and overall coordination for the planning, implementing, and evaluating of the KeSMA- Tuimarishe Lishe Bora Shuleni program.
- Facilitate networking and collaboration with School Meal partners across project sites.
- Develop work-plans and budgets (Detailed Implementation plans).
- Manage Donor Reporting (Annual, Semi-annual, and Quarterly), including documentation of best practices and success stories.
- Ensure school meals interventions are within schedule, plans, and budgets while developing periodic reports.
- Mainstream interventions with gender sensitivity, child protection, disability inclusion, and Christian values.
- Identify local needs and resources to take appropriate programming measures.
Quality Assurance and M&E
- Support timely mobilization and effective communication with communities and stakeholders during mapping and evaluation.
- Monitor project indicators monthly and facilitate regular reflections with the school meals coalition.
- Lead the development of a school meals database for CSOs at the National level.
- Liaise with the M&E department to ensure project evaluations and assessments are conducted.
- Ensure accurate project implementation plans (PIP), Annual work plans (AWP), and 4D matrices are utilized.
- Monitor monthly project expenditure.
Advocacy and Networking
- Map local and County school meals stakeholders with distinct roles within their jurisdictions.
- Advocate for financing and context-specific implementation models for school meals with counties.
- Support the convening of school meals implementing CSOs to advocate for policy development with line ministries.
- Engage children and parent associations as advocates for school meal provision.
Capacity Building and Resource Development
- Identify capacity building gaps among implementing CSOs and implement training plans.
- Lead capacity building initiatives for communities, parents, and children regarding school meals advocacy.
- Work with the Grants Acquisition department to develop concepts and proposals for growing grants.
- Provide nutrition data and information to aid in fundraising solicitation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science, Early Childhood Development, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Additional Qualification: A postgraduate degree or diploma in Project Management and/or Policy and Advocacy is an added advantage.
- Experience: At least 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years in Food and Nutrition, Nutrition Advocacy, School meals, or NGO policy programming.
- Interpersonal: Proven ability to work with Government agencies and cultivate partnerships with National and County stakeholders.
- Values: Personal commitment to Christ and alignment with World Vision’s ethos, philosophy of work, and core documents.
- Environment: Willingness to work in an office environment (40%) and conduct field activities (60%) within National and County locations.
