Project Officer – Mount Elgon Livelihoods Project (Trans Nzoia)

Vi Agroforestry is recruiting Project Officers for the Mount Elgon Livelihoods Project. The successful candidates will support smallholder farmers in implementing sustainable agriculture and climate-smart land management practices, strengthen farmer organizations, facilitate project activities, and promote climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support smallholder farmers in implementing sustainable agriculture and climate-smart land management (SALM) practices.
• Strengthen, mobilize, and capacity-build farmer organizations and local community groups.
• Facilitate, plan, and execute overall field project activities.
• Promote environmental management, climate change adaptation, and mitigation strategies.
• Engage with key local stakeholders and prepare comprehensive project and field reports.

• Kabuchai/Cheptais (1 position)
• Kanduyi/Webuye (1 position)
• Kwanza/Endebess (1 position)
• Saboti (1 position)

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ NGO experience.
• Experience in agroforestry, SALM, climate change, and community development.
• At least 2 years’ project management experience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.
