Information about the Role
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is looking for a Programme and Operations Intern to support its mission in protecting and assisting refugees. This internship is designed to provide essential support to the operations unit by ensuring compliance with programme cycles and project monitoring frameworks. The intern will assist in data collection, analysis, and various administrative tasks to maintain high standards of quality assurance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties
Support in overseeing Operations’ compliance with programme cycle requirements and project monitoring.
Collect and analyse project data to assess progress and suggest improvements.
Support documentation related to the quality assurance of partnership agreements.
Participate in meetings, document key takeaways, and follow up on action items.
Maintain the unit’s documentation, including taking meeting notes, collecting and consolidating reports, and providing status updates.
Assist in preparing project status reports and/or presentations.
Assist in taking stock of post-distribution monitoring conducted by country operations and support its quality assurance and analysis of findings.
Offer general administrative assistance, such as scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and organizing project-related activities.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be either a recent graduate (having completed studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate or undergraduate school programme.
The educational institution must be a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO.
Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
