Role Overview
Amiran Kenya Ltd, a leading force in the horticulture and floriculture industries since 1963, is seeking a Procurement Officer. The role involves assisting the Procurement Manager to plan, source, procure, and manage the supply of agricultural chemicals and fertilizers in a cost-effective, compliant, and timely manner. Amiran is a part of the Balton CP group and has expanded into telecommunications, water purification, solar energy, and power generation.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning and Execution: Develop and implement effective procurement plans to ensure consistent supply chain operations.
Supplier Management: Conduct supplier sourcing, lead negotiations, and manage ongoing vendor relationships to secure high-quality products and favorable terms.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities and products adhere to regulatory standards, including PCPB, KEBS, and other relevant international standards.
Inventory and Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels and perform demand forecasting to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Cost Control: Implement strategies for cost optimization and maintain strict budget control throughout the procurement process.
Logistics Coordination: Manage import logistics and coordinate shipments for international products.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive reporting and documentation of all procurement activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
4-6 years of professional procurement experience.
Demonstrated experience in international sourcing and importation processes.
Previous experience dealing with agrochemicals, fertilizers, or other highly regulated products is considered an added advantage.
Technical and Soft Skills
Vendor management and negotiation skills.
Inventory planning and demand forecasting.
Knowledge of local and international regulatory frameworks (PCPB, KEBS).
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
