The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit 30 Privates specialized in Masonry. The NYS is a premier agency through which the Government executes an elaborate and comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. This is a permanent and pensionable position within the government service.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Perform masonry work including laying bricks, blocks, and stones to construct or repair walls and structures.
Mix mortar, plaster, and concrete to specified proportions.
Read and interpret simple construction sketches and blueprints.
Apply plaster and other finishes to surfaces as required.
Maintain and care for all masonry tools and construction equipment.
Adhere to strict paramilitary discipline and workplace safety protocols at all times.
Participate in nation-building projects and disaster response as mandated by the NYS.
Requirements and Qualifications
A minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) D+ (plus) or its approved equivalent.
Must have successfully undergone initial NYS Paramilitary Training.
Possession of a National Trade Test, Craft, or Diploma Certificate in Masonry.
Clean criminal record (No criminal record).
Senior Service Man/Woman (I and II) certificate required for the General Duty Cadre.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: As per the existing National Youth Service (NYS) salary scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
