The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit Cadet Officers as Land Surveyors. This role is part of a premier agency focused on youth empowerment and national service. Successful candidates will provide professional land and quantity surveying expertise for various NYS projects and infrastructure developments. The position is permanent and pensionable, offering competitive salary and allowances as per the existing NYS salary scale, along with medical cover under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants.
Responsibilities
Conduct professional land and quantity surveying for NYS projects and infrastructure developments.
Adhere to professional standards set by the Land/Quantity Surveyor’s Board of Kenya.
Participate in mandatory paramilitary training for a duration of nine months.
Perform duties assigned within the framework of the National Youth Service.
Requirements
Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Age: Must be between 18 – 28 years.
Identity: Must possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Land Surveying from a recognized institution.
KCSE Grade: Minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Professional Registration: Must be registered by the Land/Quantity Surveyor’s Board of Kenya.
Computer Skills: Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Health: Candidates must be medically fit.
Integrity: No criminal record and must meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
Training: Successful candidates must be ready to undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.
