The Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA) is the representative body of the residential, commercial, and industrial property development sector in Kenya. As a Business Member Organization, KPDA works in proactive partnership with policy-makers, financiers, and citizens to ensure the industry grows rapidly and in an organized manner. We are seeking a professional with strong project and program management capabilities who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high standards of detail and execution.
Role Purpose
KPDA is seeking a candidate with both intellectual rigor and practical execution capability to handle policy research, legislative review, and advocacy environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating complex policies into actionable industry positions and managing stakeholder relationships across both public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Policy Analysis: Interpret legislation and analyze policies to translate complex information into clear industry positions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct stakeholder diplomacy, engaging effectively with both public and private sector representatives.
- Financial & Program Oversight: Manage grant budgeting and provide financial oversight for donor-funded programs.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop and maintain M&E frameworks to track program success.
- Reporting & Briefing: Prepare high-quality reports and conduct briefings for the board and other high-level stakeholders.
- Event Management: Program policy-linked events such as forums, roundtables, and industry dialogues.
- Operational Management: Identify and mitigate risks in program delivery and utilize workflow tools for efficient project management.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants must hold a degree from a recognized university in Law (LLB), Economics, Public Policy, Research, Statistics, or a related analytical discipline.
- Preferred Technical Background: Degrees in the Built Environment (Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Real Estate) are an added advantage.
- Post-Graduate Studies: A Master’s degree in a relevant field is considered an added advantage.
- Alternative Qualifications: Diploma holders in the same fields with proven relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Demonstrated passion for the real estate sector and experience in policy research, legislative review, or advocacy. Proven experience leading teams, supervising junior staff, and coordinating projects or committees is required. Experience with donor-funded programs or grant writing is highly desirable.
