This is an entry-level and training role for Plant Operators. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor to perform various machine operation and maintenance tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operating machines classified as having a ‘difficult rating’.
Assisting machine attendants in identifying potential equipment breakdowns.
Liaising with mechanics for scheduled servicing and necessary repairs.
Performing daily and weekly oil and fluid checks.
Maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the plants.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this position, a candidate must have the following:
A Plant Operator Certificate from the Kenya Institute of Highway & Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.
Passed the Suitability Test for Plant Operators grade III.
A valid and current driving license.
Ability to operate at least two (2) plants of ‘difficult rating’.
Attended a first-aid course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance, the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
