Engineer II (Roads)

This is the entry and training grade into this cadre. An Engineer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Developing preliminary designs and preparing working drawings for the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of roads and highway structures.\n- Taking part in supervising roads works.\n- Taking part in undertaking quality assurance, technical, performance and road safety audits and assessments.\n- Preparing quantity take-off sheets, cost estimates and tender documentation for roads works.\n- Taking part in implementation of road safety engineering programs and risk management activities.\n- Taking part in feasibility studies and environmental social impact assessment to determine viability for development of roads infrastructure.\n- Collecting and collating data for scoping and research.\n- Compiling and collating data pertaining to road works and inventory.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\nFor appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:\n- Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.\n- Registration by Engineers Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Machakos County Public Service Board recruitment portal at .
