Patient Attendant

The role of Patient Attendant at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) is offered on a contract basis and is based in Kakamega. JOOTRH has a long history, established in the early 1900s to serve the health needs of workers at the then port town of Kisumu, and has since grown into a referral hospital serving County, Sub-county, and private hospitals in more than 10 Counties in the region.

This role is crucial in providing essential support to patients and assisting medical staff within the hospital environment.

Person Specifications

Qualifications and Education:

• KCSE qualification.
• Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Nursing Aid Course, Health Care Assistant Courses, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Experience and Skills:

• Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is desirable but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated reliability, compassion, and competence in supporting patients.
• Proficiency in basic record-keeping and communication skills.

Professional Requirements:

• Registration from relevant professional body.
• Valid practicing license from Kenya Health Practitioners Authority.
