Oxford University Press East Africa is recruiting a Partnership Lead – East Africa for a permanent position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The purpose of this role is to develop and manage strategic partnerships and key accounts that drive new and sustainable revenue across the region. The position is balanced between identifying, negotiating, and executing new partnerships with corporates, NGOs, and foundations (40%), and managing key accounts for distributors and institutions to ensure structured support and long-term value (60%).
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy: Lead the partnership strategy and develop formal proposals to secure new business.
Account Management: Develop and implement structured key account plans for distributors and institutions to ensure tailored support and long-term value.
Stakeholder Engagement: Identify, negotiate, and execute partnerships with NGOs, corporates, foundations, and other education stakeholders.
Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate the execution of partnership goals with internal departments, including Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
Sales Support: Support the sales team with opportunities and pitches to drive regional growth.
Reporting & Pipeline Management: Maintain a revenue-focused partnership pipeline and provide regular performance reports to leadership.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, Development Studies, or a related field.
A postgraduate degree in Education Management and/or project management certification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in educational publishing, sales, business development, or similar roles.
Proven experience managing strategic partnerships with NGOs, corporates, foundations, or government institutions.
Exposure to literacy/numeracy programmes, development projects, and regional East African markets is an added advantage.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Strong ethical standards and integrity.
A valid driver’s licence and a reliable car are required.
