Job Description
The Open University of Kenya is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Part-Time Lecturers in Information Technology, Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. The university aims to address the issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to access higher education remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and facilitate learning in the fields of Information Technology, Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
Utilize innovative online and distance education methodologies to reach students.
Support students in an online learning environment.
Handle and manage digital educational content effectively.
Maintain high standards of academic instruction and student engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
Demonstrated computer literacy with the ability to handle digital content.
Proven ability to support students in an online/remote learning environment.
Membership in good standing with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
