Role Overview
The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. The university is currently seeking qualified Part-Time Lecturers for the Healthcare Procurement and Partnerships discipline. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to pursue their academic goals in a digital-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver course instruction in Healthcare Procurement and Partnerships using the university's online and distance learning platforms.
Handle and manage digital content for academic delivery.
Provide academic support and mentorship to students in an online environment.
Ensure high-quality teaching standards are maintained in line with university guidelines.
Participate in assessment and evaluation processes for students.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
PhD Status: If applying with a Master's degree, you must be registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
Digital Literacy: Must be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content and support students online.
Professional Standing: Membership with relevant professional bodies.
