The Open University of Kenya (OUK) aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students. OUK is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as Part-Time Lecturers in the Graphic Design department.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality instruction in Graphic Design through the university's online and distance learning platforms.
Support students in an online environment, ensuring academic progress and engagement.
Manage and deliver digital educational content effectively.
Handle digital content for instructional purposes.
Maintain academic standards and provide mentorship to students in the Graphic Design field.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Graphic Design or a relevant field from an accredited university; OR
A Master’s degree in Graphic Design or a relevant field from an accredited university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
Doctoral Status: Master’s degree holders must be registered in good standing for a PhD in a relevant field.
Technical Proficiency: Must be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content and the capacity to support students online.
Documentation: Applicants must possess an updated CV, academic certificates, testimonials, and copies of ID or Passport.
Professionalism: Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
