Successful applicants will be expected to support the University's core mandate of teaching, training, and mentorship of students in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures, training, and tutorials in GIS and Remote Sensing.
Mentor and supervise university students in their academic and research work.
Develop course materials, lecture plans, and reading lists.
Assess student coursework, exams, and practical assignments.
Contribute to academic development and curriculum delivery.
Requirements for Appointment
To qualify for appointment, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Possess a minimum of a PhD degree in the relevant field (GIS, Remote Sensing, or related discipline) from a recognized university.
Have at least two (2) years of teaching experience at the university level. This must be evidenced by documentation such as letters of appointment or contracts from previous university engagements.
Provide evidence of having published in credible refereed journals.
Applicants with foreign academic qualifications must provide recognition and verification certificates from the Commission for University Education (CUE) or the National Qualification Authority (NQA).
