Job Description
The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students.
Candidates appointed to this role will be responsible for delivering digital academic content and supporting students in an online environment in the fields of Business, Finance, and Economics.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver online and distance lectures in Business, Finance, and Economics.
Handle, manage, and deliver digital content through online platforms.
Support and guide students online within the virtual learning environment.
Conduct assessments and facilitate academic progress for students.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
For appointment, one MUST have:
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
Computer literacy with the ability to handle digital content and support students online.
Active membership/good standing with relevant professional bodies.
An updated CV (including full academic details, professional qualifications, experience, membership with professional bodies, and names and addresses of three referees)
