Job Description
Amentum is a global leader in designing, engineering, and modernizing critical systems and programs of national importance. We are seeking a Packaging Specialist to perform packaging, wrapping, labeling, and preparation of materials, equipment, and supplies for storage, shipment, or transport in accordance with Navy and program standards. The role involves ensuring the safe handling and movement of goods through appropriate packing methods and meticulous documentation.
Responsibilities
Perform packaging, wrapping, labeling, and preparation of materials for storage or shipment.
Inspect items for damage, accuracy, and compliance prior to packaging.
Utilize appropriate packing materials, cushioning, containers, and protective methods to ensure safe handling.
Prepare documentation, inventory logs, and basic shipping or storage records.
Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of packaged materials.
Operate basic material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and carts.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of packaging areas and tools.
Follow supervisor instructions to complete tasks safely and to required quality standards.
Comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate progress, issues, and safety concerns to leadership as required.
Requirements
1-3 years of experience in packaging, warehousing, logistics, material handling, or related industrial environments.
High school diploma (KCSE) or equivalent preferred.
Must possess a valid passport (valid for at least one year beyond hire date) and be able to travel internationally.
Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of the assignment.
Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
