This position for a Norwegian Language Coordinator is responsible for ensuring linguistic quality, consistency, and adherence to brand standards across all Norwegian content, particularly within the complex context of automotive sales, financing, insurance, and aftersales. Although the location is listed as Nairobi, the position is classified as Remote.
Tasks / Responsibilities
Language Coordinator Duties:
- Identify language-related risks (such as ambiguous vehicle specifications, financing terms, tone discrepancies, bias, and inclusivity issues) and implement preventive measures across all NSC touchpoints.
- Establish metrics and dashboards to effectively track language quality and translation turnaround times.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through regular audits, implementation of feedback loops, and diligent maintenance of linguistic resources (glossaries, style guides, and term bases) specific to automotive sales, financing, insurance, and aftersales.
- Validation of both new and modified technical terminology.
- Suggesting improvements to the terminology.
- Respond to e-mail enquiries concerning terminology.
- Evaluate the performance of translations and translation service providers.
- Serve as the Coordinator of Language Champions and the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) towards other business areas and AG.
- Manage capacity planning for other Language Champions.
- Maintain available capacity to undertake tasks as a Language Champion.
Required Background / Skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a BA/BSc/HND qualification.
- Fluent Norwegian speaker.
- Fluent in English and preferably possess some understanding of German.
- Demonstrated expertise in plain language, readability, tone, and brand voice development. Experience with technical or product copy and financial disclosures is a significant plus.
- Proven experience in leading and coordinating a team.
- Must hold an interest in cars.
- Possess moderate knowledge of vehicle technology and aftermarket processes.
- Experience with AI-assisted writing tools and language automation within a sales/retail context, specifically including financial content workflows.
- Proficiency in Office package and knowledge of collaborative tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Salesforce.
- Ability to handle and meet sometimes short, critical deadlines effectively.
