Mortuary Technician III (6 Posts)

The role of a Mortuary Technician III involves maintaining the functionality and hygiene of the mortuary, managing documentation, handling and preserving bodies, and assisting pathologists during autopsies. This is a permanent and pensionable full-time position within the County Government of Kitui.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that the mortuary equipment and other machinery are functioning properly and in the right condition.
• Provide proper record keeping of documentation at the mortuary.
• Receive, prepare, preserve and tag bodies for proper identification.
• Prepare bodies for burial by cleaning and embalming them before release to family members.
• Maintain proper cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of the mortuary.
• Assist in autopsy procedures under the supervision of a pathologist.

Qualifications and Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Certificate in Mortuary Sciences from a recognized institution.
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation.

Salary Scale and Terms

The salary scale for this position is Ksh. 23,700 x 1,040 – 24,740 x 1,070 – 25,810 x 1,090 – 26,900 x 1,110 – 28,010 x 1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 – 31,450 p.m. The terms of service are Permanent and Pensionable.
