Community Oral Health Officer III (3 Posts)

The County Government of Kitui is recruiting for three (3) dedicated professionals to fill the position of Community Oral Health Officer III. This role is crucial in promoting oral health within the community and providing essential primary dental care services across the county health facilities. Successful candidates will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable terms.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Community Oral Health Officer III include:

1. Participating in oral health demonstrations, exhibitions, and delivering lectures to communities and schools.
2. Collecting data for fluoride testing in water samples, analyzing and interpreting results, and advising the relevant authorities accordingly.
3. Diagnosis and treatment of common dental conditions.
4. Performing temporary and permanent dental restorations.
5. Reducing simple fractures of jaws.
6. Performing extractions and disimpactions.
7. Draining dental abscesses.
8. Suturing to stop bleeding.
9. Prescribing analgesics and anti-biotics.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Must possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain) with grade C (Plain) in English/Kiswahili and Biology/Biological Sciences, and grade C- (Minus) in either Chemistry, Physics/Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or General Sciences.
• Hold a Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya Medical Training College or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Compensation and Terms of Service

• Salary Scale: Ksh. 26,900 x 1,110 – 28,010 x 1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 – 31,450 x 1,250 – 32,700 x 1,300 – 34,000 x 1,380 – 35,380 p.m.
