About the Role
Muranga County Government is offering an Internship position for a Mortician to join their healthcare and medical team. The intern will assist in mortuary services, standard operating procedures for receiving and handling deceased individuals, embalming, body release, and providing compassionate support to grieving families.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collecting and receiving bodies within the hospital and outside through prescribed procedures.
Recording bodies received accurately.
Washing the bodies, embalming, and refrigeration.
Scrubbing and assisting in post mortems.
Counselling the relatives.
Releasing the bodies to the relatives as per laid-down procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Diploma in Mortuary Science.
KCSE D (Plain), completion of apprenticeship period, and passing a licensing exam.
Membership in a registered funeral professional association.
Training in embalming and grief counseling.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong English and Swahili language skills.
Proficiency in computer skills.
