The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Meetinghouse Facilities Manager / Mission Facilities Supervisor based in Nairobi. This role is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and operational management of church properties and missionary facilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with strategic planning, resource management, and ensuring all facilities adhere to established standards for safety and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance: Prepare and implement the annual plan for operations and maintenance.
Project Scoping: Define the scope of building renovation projects in collaboration with the project manager and anticipate future mission needs.
Quality Control: Regularly inspect facilities to ensure compliance with approved organizational standards and conduct monthly facility inspections.
Resource Management: Manage staff, contractors, and vendors to execute the annual maintenance plan effectively.
Contractor Oversight: Secure vendors, assign work, and verify that all services meet established specifications.
Stakeholder Relations: Maintain frequent communication with customers, employees, vendors, and contractors to foster productive relationships.
Mission Coordination: Coordinate directly with the mission president to meet missionary facility requirements.
Administrative Support: Negotiate apartment leases and renewals, and provide support for fleet-related needs, including managing mission drivers or home attendants.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) is required.
Experience: Experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or a related administrative role is essential.
Skills: Strong negotiation skills for lease management, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage diverse teams and external vendors.
