Job Description
The Machakos County Public Service Board is looking for qualified Medical Officers to provide essential healthcare services. The officers will be responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, performing surgical procedures, and responding to medical emergencies within the county's healthcare facilities. This role also involves administrative duties such as maintaining medical records and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Diagnosing, caring for, and treating diseases; performing medical and surgical procedures.
Emergency Response: Preparing for and responding to medical emergencies and disasters.
Resource Management: Participating in the management of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
Patient Education & Counseling: Providing health education to the community and counseling patients and their relatives on diagnoses and bereavement.
Records Management: Maintaining accurate medical records, health information, and data.
Mentorship: Teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
Compliance: Preparing requisite documents for professional registration.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B:Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Successful completion of one (1) year Internship from a recognized institution.
Registration and valid license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
