Job Description
The Medical Engineering Technologist role involves maintaining and repairing critical medical equipment, plants, and instruments within the county's healthcare facilities. This position ensures that hospital infrastructure and technical medical systems are functional, safe, and efficient to support quality patient care. Key tasks include preventive maintenance, inventory management, and technical reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Undertaking preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, instruments, and furniture.
Requisitioning for spare parts and consumables needed for maintenance activities.
Maintaining a detailed inventory of medical/hospital equipment, furniture, and plants.
Collecting relevant information for technical research purposes.
Gathering and submitting data on medical engineering services for entry into the Integrated Health Information Management System (IHIMS).
Performing minor repairs of health facilities and utilities to ensure smooth operation.
Implementing assigned medical engineering programs and projects within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Medical Engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
