We are looking for a Manager, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for Landscapes & Communities (L&C), who will be a subject matter expert in M&E, project design, management, reporting, and data analysis. Based in Africa, you will work closely with regional teams in Africa and Asia-Pacific to ensure projects align with RA’s impact framework and adopt the Project Management Platform (PMP) for evidence-based monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Align the L&C project portfolio in Africa and Asia with the Rainforest Alliance Impact Framework.
- Ensure project M&E is standardized, embedding specific Impact Framework indicators.
- Ensure that storage and reporting of project data are standardized and available for aggregated impact reporting at project and country levels.
- Serve as the primary point of contact in Africa and Asia-Pacific for capacity building, coaching, and mentoring of project staff and partners on M&E frameworks.
- Drive the adoption and maintenance of the Project Management Platform (PMP) as the central system for technical performance monitoring.
- Lead regional teams on the design of improved tools and processes, including GIS-based solutions, to enhance results-based project management.
- Present complex M&E frameworks and data insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support local teams in preparing project initiatives, ensuring robust Theories of Change, Logframes, and adequate M&E budgets.
- Support the organization in achieving its 2030 Strategy by driving impact along established pathways.
- Cultivate a culture of proactive collaboration and continuous learning across the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in agriculture, forestry, or a relevant field.
- At least 7+ years of progressive, relevant experience in designing and implementing M&E systems, preferably in tropical agriculture or forestry.
- At least 6 years of management-level experience in M&E data collection methodologies.
- At least 5 years of experience in M&E data quality assurance and analysis.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate impacts in a visually appealing and concise manner.
- Proven track record in facilitating complex data gathering across multi-cultural teams.
- High quality spoken and written English skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable development issues, forest conservation, and climate resilience.
- Key competencies: transformational leadership, innovation, persuasion, critical thinking, and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in using GIS software and data collection tools is a plus.
