About the Role
Remote is seeking a Manager for Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) to lead and scale our OHS team. This role is pivotal in managing international payroll, benefits, and compliance for companies worldwide while ensuring the highest standards of safety and health for a global workforce. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert, a coach to their team, and a strategic partner to various internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary expert and escalation point for all OHS-related topics across the organization.
- Team Management: Identify, guide, and coach direct reports to foster a high-performance environment. Take full ownership of recruitment, training, skills enhancement, mentoring, and supervision for the regional team to support their growth and development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Customer Success teams, as well as Lifecycle team internal stakeholders, to effectively execute and enhance existing integrations, processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operational Scaling: Lead the OHS team through its next phase of growth and smart scale operations to support Remote’s multiple product streams.
- Values Advocacy: Act as an internal and external champion of Remote's values and the Lifecycle team's goals.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, international, scale-up environment.
- Leadership: Hands-on people management experience, with a strong coaching mindset.
- Education: BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be tech-savvy and eager to adapt and iterate processes through technology.
- Mindset: A growth and problem-solving mindset with the ability to shift tasks and priorities quickly and effectively when circumstances change.
- Communication: Must write and speak fluent English.
- Preferred Experience: Startup and remote working experience is considered a plus.
