The Loss Control Officer is responsible for enforcing security policies, procedures, and regulations in order to secure company property and ensure the safety of employees and business partners.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability
Vigilance and Surveillance: Maintain vigilant observation of staff movement, customer activity, and company property to prevent unauthorized actions or loss. Monitor surveillance feeds and provide recorded footage ("flashbacks") for review as requested by management.
Access Control: Lead and support contracted security personnel in managing visitor access to the offices and showroom. Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized removal of company assets or property.
Asset Protection: Enforce established security protocols to safeguard all company assets and minimize the risk of theft or damage. Provide a visible security presence to deter potential dishonest acts.
Goods Verification: Inspect all outbound goods to ensure they are accurately charged, authorized, and supported by correct documentation. Physically verify all returned goods to ensure they match the details listed in the accompanying paperwork.
Documentation and Reconciliation: Reconcile physical gate passes against supporting documents to ensure absolute accuracy for all exiting items. Assist in documenting and preparing reports on loss incidents.
Inventory and Fraud Prevention: Participate in inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage. Observe customer and employee behaviors for suspicious activities that may indicate theft or fraud.
Reporting and Investigation: Report any observed or suspected loss incidents to the supervising Security Officer immediately. Assist in reviewing CCTV footage for evidence of loss incidents and support security officers in investigations related to theft or fraud.
Policy Implementation: Help implement loss prevention policies and procedures and perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of a Diploma in a relevant security-related field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Ability to identify suspicious behaviors and potential security risks.
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
