Amentum is a global leader in designing, engineering, and modernizing critical systems and programs of national importance across defense, security, intelligence, energy, and the environment. We are currently seeking a Licensed Surveyor to join our team in Lamu. The primary purpose of this role is to conduct land, boundary, and topographic surveys in support of construction, engineering, and facilities operations. The successful candidate will utilize high-precision instruments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and project success.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Perform comprehensive land, boundary, and topographic surveys to support ongoing engineering and construction projects.
Operate and maintain advanced surveying instruments including GPS, total stations, levels, and digital data collectors to capture precise measurements.
Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, plats, and other official documentation following Amentum and Navy standards.
Verify existing site conditions, elevations, and legal property boundaries to facilitate project planning.
Maintain meticulous records of all survey activities, including field notes and digital data files.
Work closely with engineers, planners, and construction teams to ensure survey data is integrated correctly into project lifecycles.
Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of all surveying equipment to guarantee ongoing accuracy.
Requirements and Qualifications
1–3 years of professional surveying experience.
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or an equivalent recognized surveying certification.
High school diploma or equivalent (KCSE); technical or vocational training in surveying is highly preferred.
Must possess a valid passport valid for at least one year beyond the hire date and be willing/able to travel internationally.
Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of the deployment.
Ability to obtain and maintain necessary facility credentials and authorizations.
