Job Description
Kibabii University is a public university in Kenya located in Bungoma County. We are seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Lecturer/Research Fellow in the fields of Medical Physiology, Human Anatomy, and Medical Surgical Nursing. The role involves academic instruction, conducting research, and participating in the development of the university's health science programs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Instruction: Lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the established syllabus.
Project Coordination: Coordinating course projects and practical laboratory work for students.
Material Preparation: Preparing teaching and learning materials to ensure high-quality education delivery.
Assessment: Setting, invigilating, and marking examinations and assignments.
Research: Carrying out research work in a relevant field or specialization and developing proposals for research funding.
Academic Progress: Preparing students' progress reports and providing mentorship.
Scholarly Contribution: Writing journal articles, books, and instructional modules.
Engagement: Presenting academic papers in conferences, seminars, workshops, or symposia.
Curriculum Development: Developing and reviewing academic programmes and curricula to maintain industry and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a Master's degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant area (Medical Physiology, Human Anatomy, or Medical Surgical Nursing) from a recognized/accredited University.
Research Output: A minimum of 24 publication points, of which sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers.
Professional Standing: Must be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Merit: Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
