Maseno University is seeking a Lecturer in Public Law for the Department of Public Law (Ref: MSU/ACA/SOL/DPL/02/26). The role involves teaching undergraduate courses, contributing to the academic excellence of the School of Law, and engaging in high-level legal research and scholarship.
Responsibilities and Duties
Teach Public Law courses at the undergraduate level.
Demonstrate competency in pedagogy and andragogy skills in the delivery of the curriculum.
Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the department.
Participate in student mentorship and academic advising.
Conduct and publish legal research in reputable journals.
Participate in departmental and faculty meetings and initiatives.
Execute planning and organizational tasks within the department.
Maintain high standards of customer care and interpersonal relations with students and staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
An earned PhD/LLD, LLM, and LLB degree from a recognized and reputable University.
Must be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with at least five (5) years’ post-admission experience as a legal practitioner.
Have demonstrable training in pedagogy and andragogy skills.
Must have taught Public Law courses at the undergraduate level in a University for a period of at least three (3) years (This competence must be clearly demonstrated).
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have excellent planning and organizational skills.
Must have good interpersonal skills and relational skills as well as good customer care skills.
Have the capacity to take initiative and work responsibly under minimal supervision.
