Responsibilities & Duties
While specific assignments will be provided upon joining, the Junior Audit Officer is generally responsible for performing entry-level professional internal audit work under supervision. Key duties typically include:
Participating actively in internal audit assignments, focusing on specific departments, branches, or processes within the bank.
Conducting preliminary risk assessments and identifying areas of potential non-compliance or control weakness.
Performing audit testing and gathering sufficient, competent evidential matter to support audit findings.
Documenting audit work papers accurately and comprehensively according to internal and professional standards.
Assisting in drafting audit reports detailing findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions.
Following up on the implementation status of management actions taken to address reported internal control weaknesses.
Ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements (including CBK guidelines), and international auditing standards.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal control systems and processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/HND) is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
