Job Description
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a premier multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is looking for an Inventory Clerk - Sorting to join the team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock movements and ensuring the integrity of the inventory within the warehouse management system.
Role Overview
The Inventory Clerk is tasked with the documentation and tracking of all goods moving in and out of the warehouse. This includes generating picklists, performing system checks for quality and expiry, and participating in regular stock-takes to maintain 100% accuracy between physical stock and system records.
Key Responsibilities
Document all Inbound and Outbound stock movements within the relevant warehouse management systems.
Generate timely and accurate picklists for order processing, adhering to FIFO (First-In-First-Out), FEFO (First-Expired-First-Out), and batch number protocols.
Conduct daily system checks to verify product status for put-away, expiry dates, lot numbers, locks, and quality standards.
Participate in monthly stock-takes and contribute to inventory reporting.
Perform spot checks on operational documentation to ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Adhere to daily cycle count schedules and share reports detailing inventory accuracy.
Maintain 100% stock accuracy at warehouse locations through both physical and system-based cycle counting.
Manage iLPNs (Internal License Plate Numbers) for damaged products, including generating or splitting moves at reserve locations.
Lock iLPNs associated with damages or quality issues and escalate these in real-time.
Verify that all staged orders are ship-confirmed and closed by the end of each shift.
Abide by all SOPs and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) regulations.
Record and report any stock damages, losses, or surpluses to the Warehouse Supervisor and Inventory Controller.
Requirements
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a Warehouse or Logistics environment.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in using WMS-SPEED (Warehouse Management System).
Education: A Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Studies, or a related field.
